What 3D file formats can I convert?
Trify3D supports 48+ conversion paths between OBJ, STL, GLB, glTF, FBX, PLY, USDZ, 3MF, STEP, IGES, DAE, IFC, Blend, and more. Browse all converters above to find your format pair.
Is the 3D file converter free?
Yes, all converters are free to use. No registration, no watermarks, no hidden costs. Upload your file, convert, and download.
Are my files safe?
Yes. Files are transmitted over SSL and processed on secure servers. After conversion, uploaded files are automatically deleted. We do not store your 3D models permanently.
Can I convert files on Mac?
Yes. All converters work in any modern browser on macOS, Windows, Linux, iOS, and Android. No software installation required.
What is the maximum file size?
Up to 50MB per file. Larger files may take slightly longer to process depending on geometry complexity.
Do the converters preserve materials and textures?
For formats that support materials (GLB, glTF, FBX, OBJ+MTL), basic materials and textures are preserved during conversion. STL and PLY do not support texture mapping.
Can I convert STL to a format with color?
Yes. Convert STL to 3MF (supports multi-color), GLB (supports PBR materials), or OBJ (supports MTL materials). STL itself cannot store color data.
Which format is best for 3D printing?
STL is the universal 3D printing format. 3MF is better for multi-color printing. Both work with Cura, PrusaSlicer, and Bambu Studio.
Which format is best for web 3D?
GLB is the standard for web-based 3D. It loads natively in Three.js, Babylon.js, Google Model Viewer, and WebXR applications.
Which format is best for game development?
FBX is the industry standard for Unity and Unreal Engine. It supports animations, skeletal rigging, and materials.
