Wordmark logos
Type the brand name, pick a font with the right personality, add a bevel so edges catch light in renders. Export GLB for mockups, PNG for the pitch deck.
Text to 3D model
Type a word. Get a real 3D model — download it as GLB, STL, OBJ, or a transparent PNG. Runs in your browser, free, no signup.
How to
The 3D mesh rebuilds on every keystroke, so you see the result immediately.
Depth controls how far each letter extrudes; the bevel softens the front edges so they catch light instead of looking cut out of cardboard. Switch fonts — every bundled typeface is a free, open-licensed Google Font.
GLB, STL, OBJ, or PNG. The file is yours, no watermark attached.
That's the whole workflow. Most people get a usable file in under a minute.
Formats
Every export button exists for a reason. Here's the short version — pick by what happens next:
| If you want to… | Export | Why |
|---|---|---|
| 3D print it | STL | Slicers read triangles, nothing else. STL stores exactly that — linked triangles describing surface geometry. |
| Drop it into a game engine or AR | GLB | Khronos designed glTF for efficient transmission and loading of 3D scenes "by engines and applications" — they call it the JPEG of 3D. |
| Open it in Blender / Maya / CAD | OBJ | The oldest interchange format. If a 3D program can't read OBJ, it can barely read anything. |
| Put it on a thumbnail or slide | PNG | A transparent-background render, no 3D software needed. |
Still unsure? GLB is the safe default for anything on-screen; STL is the only choice for printing.
3D printing
Extruded letters print well because the geometry is simple: solid shapes, flat bottoms, no overhangs that need support material. Type a name, export STL, slice it, done — that's a nameplate for a desk, a door sign, a cake topper for a birthday that got forgotten until yesterday.
These are not niche uses. The Printables model community maintains separate tag categories just for nameplates, nametags, signs, and cake toppers — categories that exist because people print this stuff constantly.
Not just an effect
Search "3D text generator" and most results hand you a picture — a nicely rendered image of gold letters you can download but never rotate, slice, or import anywhere. Useful for a poster. Useless for a printer.
This tool works in the other direction: the letters you type become actual geometry, a mesh with depth you can orbit in real time and export as a file that other software opens.
Different jobs, different tools. If you want a styled image of text for social media, a 2D text-effect editor is honestly the faster path. If you want the text to exist in a 3D scene, on a print bed, or inside Unity — you need the model, and that's this page.
Use cases
Type the brand name, pick a font with the right personality, add a bevel so edges catch light in renders. Export GLB for mockups, PNG for the pitch deck.
A rotating gold title loop starts as a GLB file — drop it into your editor or engine and animate the camera, not the letters.
Nameplates, keychains, signage — the 3D printing section above covers why this works so well.
3D signage, pickup labels, world text. Roblox Studio imports mesh files directly (it lists FBX, OBJ and glTF among its supported types), so exported text drops straight into a game world.
Pipeline
The same editor handles 3D lettering for logos, 3D font experiments, name plates, and printable text signs — in gold, metal, or plain working-gray. Whatever you searched for — a 3D letter generator, a text-to-STL tool, a way to make 3D text online free — it's the same button: type, adjust, download.
FAQ
Yes, and not "free trial" free. It runs in your browser — no account, no credits, no watermark on exports. The server never sees your text.
Yes, directly. Export an STL and open it in any slicer — no detour through Blender to convert formats first. Extruded lettering is among the easiest things a 3D printer can handle.
Printing: STL. Game engines and AR: GLB. Generic 3D software: OBJ. Flat image with transparency: PNG. When in doubt on screen, GLB; for the printer, always STL.
Not yet. The bundled fonts are all open-licensed Google Fonts, which keeps exports commercially safe — font uploads are on the roadmap.
Yes. The model you export is yours, including commercial use. Since the bundled fonts are released under open-source licenses (SIL OFL), the letterforms carry no license trap either.
GLB imports into Blender out of the box — the importer ships enabled by default, and Blender's own docs list Unity, Unreal and Godot as engines with glTF support. For Roblox, export OBJ or glTF-format files, which Roblox Studio officially accepts for meshes.
This tool extrudes fonts: the exact letters you type become exact geometry. AI text-to-3D takes a description ("a rusty treasure chest") and invents a model. Want your name in 3D — this page. Want a dragon — the AI text-to-3D generator instead.
That's the wordmark use case — type it, font it, bevel it, export. Have the logo as an SVG already? The SVG to 3D model converter extrudes vector files, which keeps curves exact rather than approximating letterforms.
Two different culprits. If the print looks rough, that's layer lines — a bevel won't fix physics, sanding or a finer layer height will. If the model looks harsh under lighting in renders or photos, that's what bevel is for: it replaces razor-sharp 90° edges with a small angled face, which catches light and reads as "finished". In FDM printing, edge treatment also affects printability and perceived quality — bevels exist for a reason.
